A top-class mono power amplifier like the RESTEK EXTRACT not only meets these requirements in measurable peak data, but even more so in its tonal characteristics. The handling of your music system should be as easy as possible with an ordinary light switch. And the device should also meet the highest aesthetic criteria. We have therefore consistently relegated all controls that are not required every day from the front to the back.

The advantages of mono amplifiers
A mono power amplifier is the ideal case with regard to the spatial distribution of power amplifiers for stereophonic or multi-channel playback. The powerless output signal of the preamplifier is routed into the immediate vicinity of the loudspeakers using symmetrical or asymmetrical connection cables. Only then is the signal amplified with the power amplifier and adapted to the impedance conditions of the loudspeakers. In this way, the supply cables to the speakers can be kept extremely short and the electrical and sound losses can be kept as small as possible. This is particularly important if the impedances of the speakers used fall below a value of approx. 4 ohms. Crosstalk between the two stereo channels is also completely ruled out due to the spatial separation of the two output stages. This factor should not be underestimated, especially with power output stages!

The technology of the RESTEK EXTRACT mono power amplifiers
- The circuitry within the power stage is divided into four areas:
- The amplifier stages, i.e. voltage amplifiers (driver stage) and current amplifiers (output stage)
- Operating and protection electronics to control and manage all functions.
- Instrument and status displays to inform the user.
- Power supply unit to power the entire device.

The amplifier stages must be designed for sufficient output power, which can mobilise sufficient power reserves at any time even under extreme load conditions. This ensures that the power amplifier is eliminated as a source of possible distortion even during large dynamic peaks. The tonal and metrological quality of the power amplifier is therefore consistently good within the designed performance range. The output stage works according to the parallel symmetrical principle and has a cascade connection in the input stage which controls eight end transistors via the driver stage. As a result, the RESTEK EXTRACT power amplifier is able to drive loudspeakers up to a minimum impedance of 2 ohms without any problems. It can deliver more than 400 watts.

Optimal ergonomics and timeless modern design
The controls were relegated to the on / off switch on the back of the device, which also has the advantage that the signal paths in the device can be kept short and thus the susceptibility to interference can be kept low. In order not to leave the user in the dark about the current state of the power amplifier, the EXTRACT has an informative display field. The large VU meter, whose background lighting can be switched off, is particularly striking. This instrument informs the user at all times of the output voltage currently applied to the output. In order to give an indication of the power output, we have scaled the scale for an 8-ohm speaker. The four LED displays on the front show the operating or operating status of the power amplifier. The standby power supply supplies the switch-on electronics with low self-consumption as soon as the device is connected to the mains. The design of the EXTRACT mono power amplifier fits perfectly with the other devices of the high-quality RESTEK E series.
