SuperSignal shares the functionalist design philosophy and uncompromising quality ethos of our multi-award-winning SuperConnect hybrid radio, ensuring that it is truly a product without equal in the DAB radio category. SuperSignal is equipped to receive DAB and DAB+ broadcasts, as well as traditional FM with RDS. Bluetooth® support is also included, meaning users can wirelessly stream music from their iPhone, Samsung, Windows Phone, Blackberry or other Bluetooth enabled device, including laptops and tablets – with no physical docking necessary. The addition of CSR’s aptX® technology means that where supported by the transmitting device, streaming music will be at CD quality rather than the lower bit rate MP3 quality of standard Bluetooth. SuperSignal is crafted using the finest materials and components, its all-wood American Walnut cabinet with anodised aluminium and mild-steel facia and backplate compliment its advanced electronics beautifully. A detailed graphical OLED display and joystick control add a touch of modernity, while patented audio electronics and driver technology deliver 10W of clear digital audio with clarity and deep, rich bass. Audio and Technology

A large secret-until-lit graphical OLED display is paired with an intuitive joystick control, enabling quick and easy navigation. Every aspect of SuperSignal’s design and development has been geared towards its audio performance, from its all-wood cabinet through to the advanced audio electronics that lie at its heart. The result is an open sound with clarity, detail and deep rich bass – free from coloration and distortion and benefiting from a surprisingly expansive sound field. This class-leading audio performance is delivered courtesy of a 10W Class-D amplifier and wide dispersion Flat Diaphragm loudspeaker technology.

Design and Construction

Aesthetically, SuperSignal is a balanced blend of modernity and mid-century charm, where classic functionalist design principles can be clearly seen. The outcome is a timeless design with a level of attention to detail that leaves a lasting impression.A hand-crafted wooden cabinet has been selected for its superb acoustic properties, clad in furniture grade American walnut, no other material provides the deep foundations of great audio performance like wood. The use of high quality anodised T6 aluminium for the front facia and speaker grille, and pressing steel for the radio’s backplate further inject a reassuring tactility and sense of honesty that cannot be achieved with lesser materials.

Digital Music, No Wires

Audio Engineering

SuperSignal’s exceptional audio performance is thanks to the inclusion of wide dispersion flat diaphragm loudspeaker technology. Flat diaphragm transducers combine the performance attributes of a flat panel speaker with the pistonic movement of a conventional loudspeaker, resulting in a high performance compact drive unit that can cover a wider range of frequencies. The result is 10 watts of high-resolution digital audio from SuperSignal’s Class D amplifier, a smooth frequency response, expansive sound stage and deep, satisfying bass.

Digital Alarm

For those wishing to use SuperSignal as a bedside radio, full digital alarm clock functionality is incorporated. SuperSignal allows for once, daily, weekday and weekend settings, and a dual alarm capability is included, as are Sleep and Touch-Snooze functions – the latter being activated by touching anywhere on the radio’s aluminium front panel during alarm activation.

Total Control

SuperSignal is supplied with a full feature compact remote control, allowing the user to easily navigate the radio’s menu system and access the various modes of operation. For users who prefer a larger, more tactile remote control, our deluxe SuperSeries remote is available as an optional accessory from the PRODUCTS section of this site.
